To foster and maintain among its sons a spirit of fraternity, a spirit of mutual moral aid and support; to instill and maintain in the hearts of its sons love for and loyalty to Alma Mater and its ideals; to inculcate among its sons such ideals as will result in actions worthy of the highest precepts of true manhood, democracy, and humanity.

Sigma Alpha Mu's Delta Kappa Chapter proudly presents their first major charity event since being re-installed as a chapter at UWO. In accordance with The Alzheimer's Association, The Resources for Life Foundation and Fox Searchlight Pictures, we present a sneak preview screening of Jason Reitman's "Thank You For Smoking." The movie will be on February 12th at 2:00pm at the Silver City in Masonville Mall in London, Ontario. "Thank You For Smoking" is a satirical comedy that follows the machinations of Big Tobacco's chief spokesman who attempts to put a positive spin on cigarette smoking while trying to remain a role model for his twelve-year-old son. This movie will not be released in theatres until March of 2006. All proceeds from the event are going towards The Alzheimer's Association and The Youth Technology and Mentor Program of The Resources For Life Foundation.

If you are interested in coming, please contact the fraternity ASAP as we are anticipating selling out the theater. We would love to see as much Sigma Alpha Mu representation as possible. Tickets are only $40 and include a popcorn and a drink, and you will receive a tax receipt for your donation. You can pay by cash, cheque, or credit card. Please make cheques payable to “SAM Charity”. All proceeds are going directly to the Alzheimer’s Association and The Resource for Life Foundation.

After it first aired at the Toronto Film festival “Thank You For Smoking” became the highest grossing sale of an independent film in the festival’s history after a controversial bidding war. It viewed so well at the Sundance festival and that they decided to have two additional showings of the film. We would love to see all the alumni and their families come out to support our chapter and help raise money for Alzheimer’s Association and The Resource for Life Foundation.
